Oban community fireworks fiasco
Oban is a tiny town on the west coast of Scotland, known now mainly as a tourist destination — until this weekend, when its community fireworks display managed to go really rather wrong.
Not stray-firework-in-someone’s-eye wrong, but wrong in so much as it was meant to last over half an hour, but ended up only managing a couple of minutes.
How come? Well it’s all down to the organisers, who managed to set off every single firework in the display at the same time, meaning that if you’d popped to the loo at kick-off, it’d be all over by the time you’d finished.
Councillor Roddie McCuish apologised to the crowd: “I have some terrible news — the fireworks have all gone off at once.” That cannot have been fun to say. At all. Still, boom! Pow! A huge amount of press for your town! Wahey!

My thoughts, if this was my show I would probably freak out within the first minute, when I realize something isn’t right.
Once you start a show like that there really is no way to stop it. Shit happens but that’s why you triple check everything before the show begins.

Little known fact….
As many of you know that my brother-in-law has Down Syndrome. This past Saturday we went to the North Georgia State Fair in Marietta to see Mark Wills. Mark Wills has know Jon (my brother in law) and Misty (his girlfriend) for years now and he starts to play this song and my wife starts crying. I look at her and she says this song was inspired because of Jon & Misty. I’ve liked this song before but I like it a lot more now.
